Dust storms forecast over parts of Oman
Muscat: Southwesterly winds over large areas of the South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and Dhofar governorates may cause dust storms over desert and open areas, said the General Directorate of Meteorology said in its weather forecast.
Some weather monitoring stations recorded wind speeds of up to 34 knots in Duqm and 30 knots in Thumrait.
The General Directorate of Meteorology said in its weather forecast: “Partly cloudy to cloudy spread along the coast of Dhofar governorate and adjoining mountains with intermittent drizzle and chance of isolated rain. Clear skies with medium and high clouds advection over most of the governorates with chances of clouds formation and isolated rain over Al Hajar Mountains toward afternoon.”
The directorate added that there is chances of low-level clouds or fog patches along parts of the coastal areas of Oman Sea and Arabian sea.
